Flexible Passive Fire Protection (PFP) Insulation Jacketing System

The Jet Fire Pro is the world’s thinnest and most innovative flexible fire protection Jacketing system offering 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes of life saving protection. The Jacket protects equipment from jet and hydrocarbon fires, thereby ensuring that they do not fail and that workers have time to escape. In 2012 the jacket was awarded the coveted type-approval for a minimum of 120 minutes of protection by Lloyds Register due to its outstanding performance during intense testing.

Testing & certification

The Jet Fire Pro Insulation jacket range has been extensively tested for its resistance to Jet fires at the Spadeadam UK test site in Cumbria.

This tests the jacketing for a period of 2 hours or until the thermocouple inside the test pipe reaches 200°C. 

Following tests the Jet Fire Pro jacket kept the core temperature well below this limit with results suggesting the system would provide protection for a much longer period.

The Jet Fire Pro Under Test

For 2 hours the now multi-award-winning JetfirePro was blasted at temperatures reaching 1,350oC.

In order to pass the tests the core temperature has to remain within strict test limits. 

The test piece was remained significantly below required limits with data estimates suggesting the test could have continued to 3 hours.

THE JET FIRE PRO 120 IS BEING USED THROUGHOUT THE WORLD BY THE LEADING OFFSHORE COMPANIES — IT REALLY IS SETTING THE STANDARD.

Project Description:
Survey, Design, manufacture, installation and inspection of over 200 meters of pipework over 50 valves and flanges for "Project Revolution" at Hole House Onshore Gas Storage Facility. AIS provided our Jet Fire Pro 120 in a project specific BS 4800 12-B-27 olive green weather protective covering to meet the aesthetic requirement of this project.

Case Study - Riser Pipe Work

Project Description:
Survey, design, manufacture and installation of Jet fire resistant insulation jacketing including the Aero Lite hydrophobic internal pipe face layer for Riser pipe lines on the Gannet offshore platform. Due to the riser pipe work being very close together design and installation was very technical.

How we work

The full turn key solution

1. Survey

Measurements will be taken on site by AIS engineers as part of a full survey to ensure your product is perfectly engineered and fit for purpose.

2. Design

Survey results or details from Isometric or P&ID Plans are transmitted back to the AIS Design Team via our bespoke AIS Xnet cloud based software programme which can instantly generate a precise  quotation and energy saving feedback report.

3. Manufacture

Our detailed and often complex designs are imported directly into our fully automated precision CNC manufacturing system housed within our 20,000sqft fabrication facility. From here a team of dedicated technicians then manage the whole production process.

4. Install

AIS can offer a full installation service by highly experienced engineers. All of our installation engineers are IRATA certified rope access technicians ensuring no area is out of their reach in difficult to reach locations during installation.

5. Inspection

Our team of IRATA certified engineers are qualified to carry out a range of inspections, from visual only through to detailed NDT. They can also undertake any maintenance requirements to optimise performance.
